Official: Vinicius Jr extends contract with Real Madrid until 2032

In an official statement released on its website, Real Madrid has just announced the contract extension of Vinicius Jr until 2032.

Just a few hours after announcing the signing of Yan Diomandé, Real Madrid published another press release. This time, Florentino Pérez and his team have finally closed the case on Vinicius Jr’s extension. Los Merengues have confirmed the renewal of their Brazilian No. 7, who is now tied to the club until 2032.

Between rumors of a move to Saudi Arabia last winter and Arsenal’s interest this summer, many Madrid fans thought Vinicius was already packing his bags. The Brazilian had set high financial demands, asking for a net annual salary of €30 million and various bonuses, including a signing bonus just for the extension.

While he apparently hasn’t secured a higher salary than Kylian Mbappé, bonuses included, Florentino Pérez has made an effort and all indications suggest that Vinicius Jr’s new net annual salary will exceed €25 million. That was enough to convince the Brazilian—who had clearly left the door open to the Gunners—to say yes, with José Mourinho reportedly playing a key role in the operation as well.
