Santos: when Neymar calls out the fans
Last night, Neymar Jr's Santos clinched a 2-1 victory over Macará in the Copa Sudamericana. The living legend of the Brazilian national team finished the match with two assists to his name.
The former Paris Saint-Germain player took advantage of his time in the mixed zone to send a message to Santos fans. Despite the win in this first leg, the Brazilian icon lamented that he no longer feels the same electric atmosphere that once made Vila Belmiro famous.
"Every team that used to come and play here would say that playing at Vila Belmiro was crazy. Today, unfortunately, it's not the same anymore," he said after the match. Neymar is now expecting more from the crowd, just as the fans have high expectations for the players.

"Just as the supporters ask things of us, I also ask a little something from them," added the Brazilian, clarifying that he wants encouragement "in the right way." For Neymar, having a crowd that can push the whole team to the end could really make a difference: "I love fans who cheer us on until the final whistle, who are there supporting the entire team. I think that's going to help us a lot."
