Slavia Prague: Good News for El Hadji Malick Diouf
El Hadji Malick Diouf could make his return to the pitch before the end of this season. Initially, his fibula fracture raised fears of a prolonged absence, or even an early end to the season for the Senegalese player.
El Hadji Malick Diouf suffered a fibula fracture during the 313th derby between Slavia Prague and Sparta Prague on Saturday, March 8, 2025. After just 17 minutes of play, the Senegalese defender had to leave the field. The initial diagnosis suggested a prolonged absence, jeopardizing the end of his season. However, recent news following additional medical examinations offers a glimmer of hope.
“Malick underwent CIA examinations in Střešovice. Unfortunately, it is a fibula fracture. The recovery time is currently estimated at at least 3 weeks,” stated Slavia Prague's doctor, Petr Krejčí Jr.
This positive development could allow the defender to return to the pitch before the end of the season, an encouraging prospect for the club and its fans. The 20-year-old player also spoke about his situation.
“There is nothing we can do; injuries are unfortunately part of the sport. I will do everything I can to return as quickly as possible and help the team achieve our goal. Saturday's defeat (2-0 against Sparta Prague) doesn't change that,” reassures El Hadji Malick Diouf.
