Spain: 41 matches unbeaten as historic run continues

Spain continue to extend their historic run. After their victory over the Czech Republic (3-1) on Saturday, October 3, Luis de la Fuente’s side now have 41 consecutive official matches without defeat in regulation time.

La Roja reached the 40-match mark four days earlier, thanks to their 4-1 win over Croatia in Seville. Before that match, they had also beaten England (3-2) at Wembley. With this latest victory, Spain continue their flawless run in the Nations League.

A run built against the best national teams

This unbeaten run was not built solely against second-tier opponents. Before the match against the Czech Republic, the Spanish federation pointed out that five of the last six matches in the run had been played against teams ranked among the top 10 in the FIFA rankings.

Spain had notably beaten Portugal (1-0) and Belgium (2-1) at the 2026 World Cup. They then dominated England (3-2), followed by Croatia (4-1), before defeating the Czech Republic.

Spain remain unbeaten after their world title triumph

The change in competition therefore did not interrupt Spain’s momentum. Crowned world champions in 2026, Luis de la Fuente’s side returned with a victory at Wembley before confirming their form against Croatia and the Czech Republic.

With 41 consecutive official matches without defeat in regulation time, Spain are now continuing a run that constitutes a record for the national team. La Roja have also won their last three matches since the restart, scoring nine goals and conceding three.
