Spain: Dion Lopy extends contract with Almería until 2030

The adventure continues for Dion Lopy. The Senegalese midfielder has officially extended his contract with UD Almería until June 30, 2030, adding an extra year compared to his previous deal.

This extension comes at a time when the Senegal international’s name was circulating as a possible departure during the summer transfer window. Having arrived from Stade de Reims in 2023 for around 6 million euros, Dion Lopy quickly established himself as a key figure in the Andalusian set-up.

A locker room leader still highly valued

In three seasons wearing Almería’s colors, the 23-year-old defensive midfielder has played 105 matches and built a solid reputation among the fans. His physical presence, ball-winning ability, and impact in midfield make him a highly appreciated member of the squad.

Valued at around 15 million euros on the market, Lopy remains a player likely to attract offers. This contract extension could also help Almería better capitalize on their asset should he leave in the future. For now, the club continues to count on him to lead their sporting ambitions.
