Spain: Lamine Yamal’s state of mind, Luis de la Fuente provides an update

However, Luis de la Fuente reveals that his young winger did not only shine through his individual qualities during the last World Cup. Indeed, in an interview with L’Équipe, the Spain coach above all highlighted the evolution of the FC Barcelona player in his approach to the collective game. This is despite a competition that he himself considers imperfect for his star.

The Spain coach particularly appreciated Yamal’s ability to extend his influence beyond his usual technical exploits: « He has matured a lot because he saw that he could help the team in another way. Not only with his talent and by doing great things. I appreciated that a lot, and so did the team. Lamine is an insatiable footballer who always wants to be better, better, better, because that is something we demand here. He is never satisfied with his performances. I find this assessment and this demand very unfair. And at the same time, without this high level of expectation, he will never be able to reach the level Lamine aspires to, given that he has everything it takes to become a football legend. »
