Spain: Lionel Messi makes a donation to the city of Madrid

Just like many other European countries, Spain has also been hit by wildfires every summer.

The situation in the Madrid region, to the west of the city, was the most alarming. The flames caused massive devastation. Following these events, as revealed by Isabel Diaz Ayuso on her social media, FC Barcelona legend Lionel Messi stepped up and contributed financially to help rebuild the ravaged areas.

"Leo Messi has donated €80,000 for the reconstruction of the Sierra Oeste de Madrid. I want to thank him and let him know that the people of Madrid hope to welcome him soon and give him the applause he deserves," wrote the president of the Madrid region on her social networks.
