The Sporting Club de Gagnoa has officially ended its collaboration with the illustrious French coach, Bernard Casoni, this Tuesday, March 25.

Arriving in Ivory Coast last September, the 63-year-old coach did not meet the objectives set by the Ivorian second division club, which aimed for an immediate return to the Premier Division.

It should be noted that SC Gagnoa currently occupies the 4th place in its group after 19 matchdays, trailing leader Tchologo by six points but with a game in hand.

The club's management deemed the results insufficient and decided to entrust the interim position to assistant coach Bailly Lago.

As a reminder, the former coach of OM, MC Alger, and Club Africain was recently fined 25,000 euros in France for racist remarks made in September 2023. He has appealed the conviction.

Despite this departure, SC Gagnoa remains hopeful of ascending to the elite. The club must quickly bounce back under the guidance of Bailly Lago to regain positive momentum in the race for promotion.
