Seydou Dembélé chooses Reims despite interest from Europe’s biggest clubs
According to Foot Mercato, Seydou Dembélé is set to sign his first professional contract with Stade de Reims, having been won over by the French club’s sporting project.
This move is part of Stade de Reims’ strategy of identifying and nurturing young talent, aiming to gradually guide them to the highest level.
Initially, Dembélé is expected to join the Stade de Reims Elite squad, where the focus will be on his continued development and helping him progress step by step toward the first team.
The young Malian made a name for himself at the most recent U17 World Cup, held in Qatar in 2025. Across five matches, he contributed to six goals, scoring twice and providing four assists.
Dembélé further underlined his potential at the 2025 U17 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, notching two goals and an assist in six appearances.
