Suleiman Camara leaves Spain for Slovakia
Racing Santander has officially announced the departure of Suleiman Camara. The Gambian winger is joining Slovan Bratislava, the Slovakian champions, after an agreement was reached between the two clubs.
A departure after a memorable season in Santander
After several weeks of speculation, the Gambian winger has finally set his sights on Slovan Bratislava. While Cádiz was also among the interested clubs, it was the Slovak side that managed to convince all parties involved. Still under contract with Racing until June 2028, the 24-year-old joins a club set to compete in European competitions this season—a decisive factor in his decision.
Arriving in Santander in the summer of 2024 from UD Ibiza, Suleiman Camara gradually earned his place in José Alberto's squad. Last season, he featured in 37 official matches and surpassed the 1,000-minute mark on the pitch. The Gambian international will be especially remembered for his crucial goal against Real Valladolid—a strike that sealed Racing's promotion to the top flight after a fourteen-year absence.
