Super Lig: "Without Osimhen, Galatasaray could be 5th," Tanju Çolak

Tanju Çolak never misses an opportunity to praise the Nigerian international. The former Turkish footballer claims that Victor Osimhen is indispensable to Galatasaray and is the driving force behind the Istanbul club's results in the Super Lig standings.

Since his loan arrival from Napoli in August 2024, Victor Osimhen has transformed Galatasaray's attack. In 28 Süper Lig matches, the Nigerian striker has scored 22 goals and provided 5 assists across all competitions. With 16 goals in 20 appearances, the 2023 African Ballon d'Or winner has significantly contributed to the club's dominant position in the league. Galatasaray is currently leading the Turkish Super Lig.

According to Tanju Çolak, a former Galatasaray striker and a legendary figure in Turkish football, the Istanbul club would be far less effective without their star forward. In a recent interview, Çolak did not mince his words.

"Osimhen, he plays to the death! A player like Osimhen runs, fights, wants, can dive for every ball (…). None of them want to win as much as Osimhen. Osimhen is a character who doesn't want to lose, with his ambition, determination, and desire. Without Osimhen, Galatasaray might be 5th," Çolak stated.

Given his performances, Galatasaray has no intention of letting the Nigerian striker go. While the Istanbul club is working hard to keep him, Victor Osimhen has become a target for several top European clubs, including giants like Manchester United, Newcastle, and Arsenal. For now, the 25-year-old remains uncertain about his future after his loan in Istanbul.
