Ilaix Moriba's return to the Guinean national team is becoming more and more likely. If confirmed, it will mark the end of an 18-month absence.

The Celta Vigo midfielder could make his comeback with the Syli National as early as the March training camp, according to the latest reports.

It was Sory Doumbouya, president of the Guinean Football Federation, who spilled the beans in a video published on the Galaxie page. “Ilaix Moriba, we met with him last week together with Paulo. Everything is in order. It's positive,” he revealed.

The player's father, Mamady Kourouma, confirmed the news to Cherif Sow, stating that his son will be present for the friendlies against Togo (March 27) and Benin (March 31).

The former Barcelona midfielder has scored one goal in 25 appearances for Guinea. His last match dates back to September 10, 2024, a defeat against Tanzania (1-2) in the qualifiers for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
