Tim Ream to be honored by the United States before match against Chile

The U.S. Soccer Federation has decided to honor Tim Ream on September 29, before the friendly match between the United States and Chile at Energizer Park in St. Louis. It will be a special moment for the central defender, who is from this Missouri city and wore the captain's armband for the United States at the 2026 World Cup.

Tim Ream will be honored on the pitch before kickoff, scheduled for 7:00 p.m. local time. The ceremony will recognize his years of service with the U.S. national team as well as his attachment to St. Louis.

The defender played an important role in the United States' run at the 2026 World Cup. He started and captained four of the team's five matches, as the United States reached the round of 16. During the tournament, Ream also became the oldest outfield player in the history of the United States to play at a World Cup.

This edition was his second World Cup appearance. In 2022, in Qatar, he played all four of the United States' matches.

86 caps for the United States

Ream now has 86 caps for the United States, with one goal and four assists. He made his international debut on November 17, 2010, in a 1-0 victory over South Africa in Cape Town.

Over the years, the defender also took part in the United States' victorious CONCACAF Nations League campaigns in 2019 and 2023.

The festivities will begin several hours before the match. Fan HQ will open at 4:30 p.m. at Lou Fusz Plaza, while the U.S. players are expected to arrive at 5:20 p.m. Ream will also take part in a question-and-answer session with American Outlaws supporters before the match.
