Press reports have revealed that Jules Koundé is on Tottenham's radar for the current summer transfer window, while several other clubs are also interested in the experienced French defender.

Tottenham are prepared to pay a hefty price for Jules Koundé

According to press reports, most notably from Fichajes, Tottenham are prepared to make a serious offer of €65 million to secure the services of the Frenchman. Barcelona have been open to selling the player and are expected to facilitate his departure if the player desires it.

This summer is already shaping up to be historic for Tottenham. The club has invested nearly £230 million, which includes a £52 million move for Jan Paul van Hecke, along with free transfers for Marcos Senesi and Andy Robertson. Although Roberto De Zerbi has declared the defense complete, the chance to sign a player of Jules Koundé’s quality might force a rethink. Adding another layer of intrigue, Barcelona are showing interest in Spurs' right wing-back Pedro Porro, potentially opening the door for a swap deal between the two clubs.

Koundé was an influential player at Barcelona!

Koundé, who turns 28 this November, has now spent three seasons with Barcelona, during which he has lifted five trophies—including two La Liga titles. In the summer of 2025, he signed a contract extension tying him to the club until 2030. However, he has recently made it clear that he remains relaxed about his future, stating that he has a valid contract and that any decision ultimately rests with the clubs involved. According to Transfermarkt, the French defender is currently valued at €60 million.
