Tottenham could soon be changing goalkeepers. With Guglielmo Vicario reportedly close to joining Juventus, the London club has identified Emiliano Martínez as their ideal replacement.

According to Football Insider, Tottenham is preparing a move for the 33-year-old Argentine goalkeeper. This comes after weeks of speculation surrounding Martínez's future at Aston Villa. Juventus had been particularly interested in the World Cup-winning Argentine.

But in early August, Aston Villa manager Unai Emery reportedly managed to convince his keeper to continue the adventure in Birmingham. However, things could change quickly with Tottenham's interest now in play.

One factor that could ease Martínez's departure: Aston Villa is said to have reached an agreement with Parma to sign Japanese goalkeeper Zion Suzuki, aged 23. Suzuki's arrival could open the door for the English club to let Martínez go, even though his contract runs until 2029.
