Trabzonspor: Franculino Djú, Mohamed Salah and Chibuike Nwaiwu shine against Samsunspor
Scoring in his third consecutive match, across all competitions with his club and national team, Franculino Djú helped Trabzonspor to a 3-0 victory on Saturday, October 10. Chibuike Nwaiwu also scored, while Mohamed Salah provided an assist, despite Melih Kabasakal being sent off before half-time.
Trabzonspor secured a convincing victory away to Samsunspor in the 7th matchday of the Süper Lig. The visitors scored all three of their goals in the first half through Ernest Muçi (28th minute), Chibuike Nwaiwu (38th) and Franculino Djú (40th). Reduced to ten men in the 43rd minute following Melih Kabasakal’s straight red card, the Trabzon club held on to its advantage until the final whistle.
Franculino Djú extends his run
Franculino Djú found the net once again. The Guinea-Bissau international forward scored Trabzonspor’s third goal in the 40th minute after receiving a through ball from Mohamed Salah. The goal extends his run to three consecutive matches with at least one goal, counting his appearances for the Turkish club and the Guinea-Bissau national team.
The forward had scored against Tanzania on September 25 in a 2-0 victory, then against Nigeria four days later in a 3-0 win. He therefore continued this international run by finding the net again for Trabzonspor.
At club level, Djú had already scored against Gençlerbirliği on September 6 in a 5-0 victory. He then provided an assist against Galatasaray on September 19 in a 4-0 win highlighted by Salah’s hat-trick. Signed from Midtjylland in September, the 22-year-old is gradually establishing himself in Trabzonspor’s attack.

Mohamed Salah decisive once again
Mohamed Salah contributed to the third goal by sending Djú through. The Egyptian is confirming his influence in Trabzonspor’s attacking play since the start of the season.
Before the trip to Samsunspor, he had recorded seven goals and two assists in the league. He had notably scored a hat-trick and provided an assist against Galatasaray on September 19. His latest assist for Djú adds to that tally.
The Egyptian forward had also scored twice against İstanbul Başakşehir on August 23, then scored once against Amedspor and once against Gençlerbirliği. His start to the Süper Lig season has therefore been marked by consistent attacking output, both in front of goal and in the final pass.

Chibuike Nwaiwu opens his league account
Chibuike Nwaiwu also played a part in the victory. The Nigerian defender scored the second goal in the 38th minute, converting a rebound after the goalkeeper had parried an attempt from Ernest Muçi.
Having joined from Wolfsberger AC in January 2026, the 23-year-old had already shown his ability to contribute offensively during the previous season. His goal against Samsunspor allows him to open his Süper Lig account for the 2026-2027 campaign.
Melih Kabasakal’s red card in the 43rd minute could have made the end of the match more complicated for Trabzonspor. The midfielder was sent off directly following an altercation with Elliott Watt, which occurred after a foul by the Samsunspor player. The visitors therefore played the rest of the match a man down.
The lead built before half-time was enough for Trabzonspor to leave with all three points. Djú extended his scoring run, Salah added an assist to his tally and Nwaiwu scored. Three distinct attacking contributions in a victory secured despite playing with ten men in the second half.
