Trabzonspor: new revelation about Mohamed Salah's arrival

Mohamed Salah's move to Trabzonspor just a few days ago was one of the most unexpected transfers of the summer. Now, a new revelation has surfaced.

After his contract with Liverpool ended, Egyptian forward Mohamed Salah ultimately signed a two-year deal with the Turkish club. In an interview with the BBC, president Ertugrul Dogan shared behind-the-scenes details of the talks with the Egyptian superstar.

During negotiations, Salah reportedly asked a very straightforward question: "Why should I choose Trabzonspor now?" The chairman's answer focused on the passion surrounding the club: "You will meet a group of supporters like you’ve never seen before. You will feel the genuine love these people have within them." That passion was on full display from the moment of his arrival, with nearly 35,000 fans gathering to welcome him.

Trabzonspor also made a significant financial commitment, with Salah set to earn around 17 million euros per season. Dogan especially sees the Egyptian as the figurehead of a broader project: attracting young talents, developing them, and then sending them to top European clubs—all while letting them grow alongside experienced stars. "He is the greatest Muslim player in the world. He is an influential role model," declared the Trabzonspor president, who views Salah as a benchmark.
