Transfer: Emiliano Martínez closing in on the Old Lady!
Juventus is actively pursuing a deal for Argentine goalkeeper Emiliano Martínez during the summer transfer window.
The world champion is edging closer to Serie A
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, talks between Juventus and Emiliano Martínez are progressing well. Attracted by the prospect of a new challenge in Italy, the Aston Villa goalkeeper is said to have already given his verbal agreement to the Turin club.
The Italian daily reports that a three-year contract is currently under consideration. The Argentine international is also willing to accept a salary lower than what he currently earns in the Premier League.
Aston Villa is not opposed to letting their star keeper leave, but the English club is demanding between €10 and €15 million to seal the deal.
Meanwhile, journalist Fabrizio Romano revealed on his X account that Martínez has become Juventus’ priority to strengthen the goalkeeper position. The Old Lady reportedly shifted focus to the Argentine after abandoning their pursuit of Brazilian Alisson Becker, Liverpool’s shot-stopper.
