Juventus want to strengthen their goalkeeping position for next season!
According to what the reliable Fabrizio Romans mentioned on his personal account on X, the reliable journalist explained that Juventus seems to have decided to look for a replacement for Alisson Becker after the deal for the Brazilian goalkeeper, the current Liverpool goalkeeper, failed.
Juventus have set their sights on Aston Villa’s Emiliano Martínez as they look to strengthen their goalkeeping department. According to reports, the 33‑year‑old Argentina international is now a primary target for the Turin club.
Negotiations between Juventus and Aston Villa are currently ongoing, with both the transfer fee and personal terms under discussion. Should the move for Martínez fail to materialise, the Bianconeri have identified Tottenham’s Guglielmo Vicario as an alternative option.
Martínez has made 44 appearances for Villa this season, conceding 49 goals while also contributing to the attack — surprisingly — with 14 assists (likely a notable figure for a goalkeeper). Transfermarkt currently values him at €12 million.
Juventus are clearly in the market for a new number one, with the experienced World Cup winner at the top of their wishlist. Whether they can reach an agreement with Villa remains to be seen, but the negotiations indicate that the Old Lady is serious about upgrading between the posts. For Martínez, a move to Turin would offer a fresh challenge after a successful spell in the Premier League. The coming days will be telling.
