Arriving in the United States with the Algerian squad, Fennecs captain Riyad Mahrez spoke to BeIN Sport.

The former Manchester City magician discussed Algeria's ambitions for this 2026 World Cup. "We want to do something that will make our loved ones and our country proud," declared Riyad Mahrez.

As a reminder, the Fennecs will kick off their World Cup campaign against Argentina in Group J on June 17. "We are ready to face Argentina. We'll approach this match like any other. We still have a week of preparation left, so we'll see, but we're feeling ready," added Mahrez.

Before the World Cup, Petkovic's men still have one last warm-up match to play. That will be on Thursday, June 11, against Bolivia.
