Real Madrid: when José Mourinho taunts Racing Santander supporters
On Sunday, during Real Madrid’s 0-3 victory away to Racing Santander, José Mourinho took the opportunity to make fun of the home fans.
Yesterday, José Mourinho did not miss the opportunity to taunt the Racing Santander supporters. Following the Madrid side’s victory, the Portuguese coach spoke at a press conference about the particularly hostile atmosphere faced by his team. “I like this stadium and I like the Racing supporters. They don’t come to watch a show or a film; they come to take part in the match and make things very difficult for the opponents,” he explained.
The Real Madrid coach then took a small dig at the opposing crowd, who had strongly disputed several refereeing decisions. “They protested against every decision made by the referee, mainly because they did not know the rules very well. And of course, I understand, because the rules change so much,” he added.

The Portuguese coach was referring to a penalty awarded to Racing Santander that was overturned after the intervention of the video assistant referee. According to Mourinho, the decision was fully justified. “They protested against that overturned penalty, even though it was obvious that the rule says it is never a penalty. It was very obvious, as long as VAR was not sleeping. And VAR was awake, fortunately. The referee was very good,” the Portuguese coach said.
