Transfer News: Raphael Adjei joins Malmö on loan with an option to buy
Raphael Adjei is now a Malmö FF player. The young Ghanaian midfielder, who came through the ranks at Golden Boys FC, has joined the Swedish club on loan with an option to buy and has already taken part in training with the U19 team.
His arrival comes after several months of talks. The move was first reported earlier before negotiations between Malmö and Golden Boys FC became complicated. An agreement was eventually reached, and Adjei arrived in Sweden this week.
First steps with the U19s
The Ghanaian has begun his spell with Malmö’s U19 side. He took part in a training session with the group, marking his first involvement with the club since his arrival.
The loan deal includes an option to buy. Malmö will therefore have the opportunity to sign Adjei permanently at the end of the loan spell. Reports published when the move was initially announced stated that the deal would include a further three-year contract if the option is exercised.
From Golden Boys to Swedish football
Adjei continues in Sweden a journey that began at Golden Boys FC, the Ghanaian academy where he was developed. His move to Malmö now gives him the opportunity to experience a new environment and European football.
For now, the young Ghanaian is starting out with the U19s. The next stage of his journey will depend on his progress within the club and Malmö’s decision on whether to exercise the purchase option.
