Transfer: Togolese defender Kevin Boma finds a new club

Togolese international defender Kevin Boma is stepping up to a new level. The 23-year-old leaves GD Estoril Praia to join FC Red Bull Salzburg, where he has signed a contract until June 30, 2031.

After two standout seasons in Portugal, Kevin Boma is taking the next step in his career. Arriving at Estoril in 2024, the centre-back made 53 appearances for the Portuguese side, scoring twice and providing one assist. His performances quickly caught the eye of several European clubs.

In recent months, a number of teams—including Everton, AJ Auxerre, FC Augsburg, and Paris FC—showed interest in his profile. Ultimately, it was RB Salzburg's sporting project that convinced the Togolese international.

The transfer fee is estimated at around €7 million. It's a smart move for the Austrian club, which is banking on the potential of the Togolese defender to bolster their back line and continue their tradition of developing young talent.
