Tunisia: a frustrating defeat for the Carthage Eagles against Austria

Tunisia fell 1-0 to Austria in a World Cup warm-up friendly. A frustrating result for the Carthage Eagles, who will have serious regrets given their performance.

Tunisia missed their chance in the friendly against Austria. Dominant for stretches and especially dangerous going forward, the Carthage Eagles created plenty of chances but just couldn’t find the back of the net. Luck deserted them too, as three shots were denied by the woodwork.

Despite being down to ten men late in the game, Austria managed to hold on to their lead, secured by a goal from Marcel Sabitzer. Defensively solid, the Austrians withstood Tunisia’s relentless attacks to claim a valuable victory in their World Cup preparations.

The Tunisian coach’s men will have a chance to bounce back as early as Saturday against Belgium, before kicking off their World Cup group stage campaign.
