48 national teams are gearing up to compete in the U17 World Cup in Qatar, for a special edition that marks the first time the tournament has been expanded to such a large number of teams.

Throughout the history of the competition, one African side has stood out by winning the tournament's Fair Play Award four times. That team is Nigeria, which claimed the honor in 1993, 2001, 2009, and 2013.

West Germany was the inaugural fair play team back in 1985, while England took home the honors at the most recent edition in Indonesia in 2023.
