U20 Women's World Cup: FIFA reassures ahead of kick-off

FIFA has moved to clarify the situation just days before the start of the U20 Women's World Cup. Despite recent concerns, no qualified team will boycott the tournament. All 24 expected teams will indeed be present in Poland.

FIFA puts an end to boycott rumors

The possibility of a tournament without some teams had raised several questions. Tensions surrounding FIFA and its governance had especially fueled fears of a potential boycott. The global governing body has now provided a clear response.

In an official statement, FIFA confirmed that all qualified teams will take part in the U20 Women's World Cup. The organization also expressed its delight at being able to welcome all the squads and their players to Poland. The tournament will be held from September 5 to 27 across four cities: Katowice, Bielsko-Biała, Sosnowiec, and Łódź.

Benin learns its opponents

Benin will be among the teams gearing up for this major global event. The young Amazons will have the chance to test themselves against tough competition in the group stage. Host nation Poland will compete in a group featuring Argentina, Mexico, and Benin.
