Viborg: Dorian Hanza scores against Nordsjælland and confirms his strong start to the season

Dorian Hanza found the net for Viborg against FC Nordsjælland this Sunday, on matchday 9 of the Danish Superliga. The Equatorial Guinean striker continues his consistent start to the season with the Danish club.

Starting at the spearhead of Viborg’s attack, Hanza was decisive once again. Before this match, the 25-year-old already had two goals and one assist in the league, having scored against FC Copenhagen and AC Horsens. He had started the first eight Superliga matchdays, playing 658 minutes.

This latest goal therefore takes his league tally to three this season. Hanza also scored a penalty in the Danish Cup against Brabrand on September 16, despite Viborg’s 2-1 defeat and elimination from the competition.

A regular presence in Viborg’s attack

Hanza’s start to the season stands out above all for its consistency. He started the first eight Superliga matches before the trip to Nordsjælland and was directly involved in three goals during that period: two goals and one assist. Before matchday 9, his statistics stood at 0.32 goals and 0.16 assists per 90 minutes, or 0.47 direct goal contributions per 90 minutes.

The contrast with his first season at Viborg is also notable. In the 2025-2026 Superliga, Hanza played 30 matches and scored three goals. He has therefore already reached that league goal tally at the start of his second season with the club.

With this latest goal against Nordsjælland, the Equatorial Guinea international continues to establish himself as one of the attacking players regularly used by Viborg. His output will now have to be sustained over time, but his start to the season is already significantly more productive than his first campaign in the Danish league.
