"Victor is a legend" Álvaro Morata praises Victor Osimhen!

In recent statements reported by Soccer.net, the former Chelsea and Galatasaray Spanish striker revealed his great admiration for Victor Osimhen—with whom he shared the attack at Galatasaray—expressing high praise for the performance Osimhen has delivered for the club over the past two years.

Victor Osimhen has established himself as one of the finest players ever to join Galatasaray in the Turkish club's history, and has earned a reputation as one of the world's top strikers thanks to his performances for the Nigerian national team and the various clubs he has played for.

In the 2024-25 campaign, Morata and Osimhen were teammates at Galatasaray following the Spaniard's move to the Turkish club in January 2025. Together, they played a key role in securing the league championship, and Morata has since opened up about what impressed him most regarding the Nigerian forward during their shared time at the club.

During a conversation with Sport TV, the ex-Chelsea man ranked Osimhen among the three finest attackers in global football and shed light on the qualities that set him apart from other strikers.

"Victor Osimhen is really, really a great guy. Victor is a legend. He's a very funny person. He's constantly helping everyone. What a guy! He's truly a wonderful person and one of the top three strikers in the world for me, I really enjoyed playing with him. Sometimes I remember playing behind Victor. It was like, 'Kick the ball into space, I'll score the goal.' I think he's one of the best in the world."

At the moment, Osimhen is nursing an injury, having been taken off the pitch during Galatasaray's encounter with Istanbul Basaksehir over the weekend.

Returning to action at the earliest opportunity will be at the forefront of his mind, particularly as Nigeria's qualifying journey for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations is scheduled to get underway later this month.
