Scoring this Friday against Sporting CP, Alioune Ndoye netted his first goal of the season in Liga Portugal. Despite Vitória SC's 3-2 defeat at Alvalade, the Senegalese striker has kicked off his campaign on a promising note.

Alioune Ndoye wasted no time opening his account. On Matchday 2 of the Portuguese championship, the Senegalese forward scored Vitória SC's second goal against Sporting CP, narrowing the gap to 3-2 in the 69th minute. Meeting a cross from the right by Tony Strata, Ndoye soared above the Lisbon defense to power home an unstoppable header, completely reigniting his team's hopes.

The goal came after a tough first half for Vitória, who trailed 3-0. Samu had first pulled one back in the 66th minute before Ndoye struck again three minutes later. Despite the late pressure from the visitors, Sporting managed to hold on and secured a 3-2 victory.

Already halfway to last season's goal tally

This goal holds special significance for Ndoye. The Senegalese striker scored just two goals in 24 Liga Portugal appearances during his debut season with Vitória SC. With this strike at Alvalade, he's already reached half of last season's total, having played just his second league game.

Available stats confirm his two goals in 24 league matches during the 2025-2026 campaign.

This first goal could be an important signal for the 24-year-old center forward, who hopes to take on more offensive responsibility this season.

Arrived in Portugal after making his mark in Latvia

Alioune Ndoye joined Vitória SC in the summer of 2025. The Guimarães club officially announced his signing on August 4, 2025, with a four-year contract.

But before discovering Portuguese football, the Senegalese forward had already built up solid European experience. Born in Rufisque, Senegal, on October 5, 2001, Ndoye began his development at Teungueth FC, his hometown club. He then moved to Valmiera FC in Latvia in 2020.

It was at Valmiera where he truly made a name for himself, helping the club win the Latvian championship in 2022. In the 2024 season, he stood out by scoring 22 league goals, finishing as the second-highest scorer in the Virsliga.

A successful stint at Servette before Portugal

His performances in Latvia opened the door to Switzerland. In January 2025, Ndoye was loaned to Servette FC, where he quickly showcased his finishing abilities. In fifteen Swiss league appearances, he scored six goals, finishing as the club's fourth-highest scorer of the season.

This experience served as another springboard in his career before his permanent move to Portugal.

A memorable chapter at Vitória

Since arriving in Guimarães, Ndoye hasn't always enjoyed regular playing time, but he has already made a significant impact on the club's recent history.

In January 2026, he particularly shone against Sporting CP in the semi-finals of the Portuguese League Cup. Coming off the bench, he netted a brace to help Vitória overturn Sporting and reach the final. Just days later, he scored again in the final against Sporting Braga, contributing to Vitória SC's League Cup triumph.

His goal this Friday at Alvalade is yet another highlight in his Portuguese journey.

In his second season in Portugal, Alioune Ndoye has opened his account as early as Matchday 2. If he keeps up this efficiency, the Senegalese striker could quickly surpass his two-goal tally from his first Liga Portugal campaign.
