Kuwait-based digital streaming platform Shasha has acquired the broadcasting rights for Lionel Messi's final international appearance for Argentina when the Albiceleste host Benin at El Monumental on 6 October.

A historic farewell at El Monumental

The fixture marks the definitive conclusion of Messi’s international career with the Argentina national team. Following his decision to step down from international football after the World Cup 2026 final, head coach Lionel Scaloni included the iconic playmaker in his latest squad to grant him an official farewell match in front of home supporters.

The commemorative encounter will take place on Tuesday 6 October, at the Estadio Monumental in Buenos Aires kicking off at 11:00 PM Cairo time.

"Shasha" secures digital streaming rights

Regional coverage of the historic event in the Arab world will be handled by "Shasha". Operating purely as an online digital streaming platform rather than a traditional linear television channel, the network has secured the distribution rights to broadcast the match across its digital applications.

The transmission will include a dedicated pre match and post match analysis studio led by veteran sports broadcaster Hichem El Khalsi, offering tactical breakdown and retrospective coverage of Messi’s career representing the national team.

Argentina's Three-Match international window

The meeting against Benin national team is part of a three game friendly schedule organized for Scaloni's squad during the current international break.

Alongside the clash in Buenos Aires, the world champions are scheduled to face Bolivia and Burkina Faso national team as the technical staff begins evaluating squad depth for future competitive cycles.

However, the encounter with Benin remains the primary focal point of the camp, with tickets and regional attention centered entirely on Messi's last cap.
