Women's Futsal AFCON: Morocco launches the first edition!
Following the triumph of the Lion Cubs in the U17 AFCON, Rabat once again shines by hosting an unprecedented event: the very first Women's Africa Cup of Nations in futsal.
Organized from April 22 to 30, 2025, this historic edition gathers nine African teams in the hall of the Prince Moulay Abdellah Sports Complex.
The stakes are twofold: to clinch the very first continental title and to secure a qualification for the inaugural Women's Futsal World Cup, scheduled in the Philippines from November 27 to December 7, 2025.
The host country and a strong contender, Morocco opens the competition this Tuesday at 8 PM against Namibia. Adil Sayeh's players, in intensive preparation at the Mohammed VI Complex, aim to replicate the feats of their male counterparts, three-time African champions.
The finalists will represent Africa at the Women's Futsal World Cup
The nine teams are divided into three groups. The winners of each pool and the best runner-up will advance to the semi-finals. The pace will be intense, with matches every two days until the final on April 30.
The two finalists will have the privilege of representing Africa on the world stage. A new chapter is being written for African women's futsal, and it begins in Morocco.
