Côte d'Ivoire have learned their opponent for the round of 16 of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The Elephants were set to face the second-placed team from Group I. The decision came this Friday, as France crushed Norway 4-1 thanks to a hat-trick from Ballon d'Or winner Ousmane Dembélé, securing the top spot in the group and leaving second place to the Norwegians.

The Elephants made history by qualifying after a 2-0 win over Curaçao on Thursday, clinching second place in Group E.
As a result, the Ivorians avoid a clash with Les Bleus and instead go head-to-head with Viking striker Erling Haaland.
