World Cup 2026: Zlatan Ibrahimović sees France as top favorite

Zlatan Ibrahimović spoke out after Sweden was drawn against France in the round of 16. The former Swedish striker believes that France stands out as the main contender for the title at the 2026 World Cup.

The former Swedish international was particularly impressed by the strength and depth of the French squad. In his view, very few teams seem capable of competing with Les Bleus over the course of a world tournament.

"I don't see many teams capable of beating France," he said, suggesting that their main threat would come more from complacency than from a superior opponent.

He also discussed the Swedish team, highlighting its attacking potential, while acknowledging its limitations against top-tier sides.

For Ibrahimović, the key to beating France lies mainly in moments of lost concentration:

"The only chance for an opponent is when they let their guard down and switch off a bit."

Despite this, his verdict remains clear: for him, France is still the team to beat at this 2026 World Cup.
