Yaya Touré set to become the new coach of Slovan Bratislava

An agreement is close to being finalized between Slovan Bratislava and former Ivorian international Yaya Touré, who is expected to soon take the helm of the Slovak club. According to multiple sources, the official announcement is now just a matter of final details.

The reigning Slovak champions are aiming to make a major statement by handing their bench to a global football icon.

An ambitious choice for Slovan

Slovan Bratislava’s interest in Yaya Touré is nothing new. Talks have intensified in recent weeks, culminating in an imminent agreement. Journalist Matteo Moretto confirms that the former midfielder is “on the verge” of becoming the club’s new head coach.

The former Manchester City star, 43, is about to embark on his first experience as head coach of a professional team. He has previously served as an assistant, notably with the Saudi national team and in Tottenham’s youth setup.

Slovan Bratislava, a regular in European competitions, is banking on his aura and experience to take the club to the next level.
