With just two days to go before the round of 16 clash against Switzerland, set for Friday in Vancouver, Mohamed-Amine Amoura has taken another step forward in his rehabilitation. The Algerian striker has resumed running—an encouraging sign, although his appearance against the Nati still looks unlikely.

With only two days left before the round of 16 match against Switzerland in Vancouver, Mohamed-Amine Amoura has made progress in his recovery. The Wolfsburg forward has returned to running, a positive development, but his participation against the Swiss remains doubtful.

After suffering a thigh strain ahead of the clash with Jordan, the Wolfsburg player was ruled out, a setback that also kept him out of the thrilling 3-3 draw with Austria—a result that secured Algeria's place in the knockout stage. Since then, Algeria's top scorer in the qualifiers has continued his individual training. On Monday night, he resumed running on the sidelines of Vladimir Petkovic's group session, a trend confirmed in the final training before departing for Vancouver.

However, this return to running doesn't change the immediate outlook: Amoura remains out for the Switzerland game. Still, a comeback as early as the round of 16—should Algeria progress past the winner of Colombia-Ghana—remains on the table, depending on how his recovery unfolds.
