South Africa were held to a draw by Czechia (1-1) in their second Group A match of the World Cup.

Caught cold in the 7th minute by a goal from Michal Sadílek, the SK Slavia Prague player, the “Bafana Bafana” had to wait until the 83rd minute to level the score, thanks to Teboho Mokoena who converted a penalty.

Beaten by Mexico (0-1) on the opening day, the 1996 AFCON champions have kept their hopes alive for a place in the second round of the World Cup.
