2026 World Cup: Wilfried Singo ruled out for Ivory Coast against Norway
A huge blow for Ivory Coast ahead of the World Cup round of 16. Emerse Faé confirmed at the press conference on Monday, June 29, that Wilfried Singo will miss the clash against Norway. But there is some good news: Evan Ndicka is back in the squad.
Emerse Faé explained at the press conference: "We got Evan Ndicka back after the Curaçao match. As for Wilfried Singo, we have to wait and hope we qualify tomorrow to see him again on the pitch."
The Galatasaray right-back was seen in tears as he left the pitch in the 82nd minute of the 2-1 loss to Germany in the group stage, and he also missed the 2-0 win over Curaçao. His return will have to wait a while longer.
On the other hand, Evan Ndicka has fully recovered. The Roma defender, who hasn’t featured in the tournament so far, is expected to start at the heart of the defense, aiming to lead the Elephants into the round of 16.
The Ivory Coast vs Norway match will kick off on Tuesday, June 30 at 17:00 GMT at AT&T Stadium in Arlington.
