It is all over at the Félix Houphouët-Boigny Stadium in Abidjan. The Elephants edged Somalia 2-0 and moved to the top of Group C in the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Gboho and Touré set the Elephants free

It took until the final minutes of the match. Thanks to Yann Gboho ’s first goal for the national team in the 89th minute and Bazoumana Touré ’s goal in the 90+5th minute, the Elephants finally overcame a Somali side that gave everything.

With six points, Ivory Coast top Group C ahead of Gambia on goal difference, +4.

Ghana bottom and in danger

In the standings, Somalia are third, while Ghana, who suffered another defeat, losing 2-4 against the Gambian Scorpions, are bottom.
