Burkina Faso have secured their first victory. At Stade Larbi Zaouli, the Stallions defeated the Central African Republic and revived their Group F campaign in the qualifiers for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations.

Camara delivers for the Stallions

After the disappointment of a 1-1 draw against Benin in Ouagadougou on the opening matchday, Amir Abdou's men had to respond. They did so thanks to Aboubacar Sidiki Camara, who scored in the 60th minute from an assist by Arthur Zagre. The 19-year-old prodigy has thus opened his account with the senior national team.

The Stallions move to the top

The victory allows Burkina Faso to temporarily reclaim top spot in Group F with 4 points. It is an important boost ahead of the next fixtures. The race remains tight, as Mauritania, 3-1 winners over the Central African Republic in the opening match, face Benin in Abidjan on Tuesday as they look to reclaim the lead.
