Aboubacar Sidiki Camara has opened his scoring account for Burkina Faso. The Stallions lead the Central African Republic in Casablanca on matchday two of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

A first goal that saves the day

After a pass from Arthur Zagre in the 60th minute at the Larbi Zaouli Stadium, Aboubacar Sidiki Camara scored his very first goal for the Stallions. The goal puts Burkina Faso ahead in a match in which the Fauves had defended well until then.

A consistent talent

A former U17 international, Aboubacar Camara warmed up but did not play a single minute against Benin at the Stade du 4 Août (1-1) on the opening matchday of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. At 19, and making his first appearance for the national team, he is confirming his full potential. The prodigy scored 2 goals for RB Salzburg in Austria, 1 in the league and 1 in the cup, before joining the Stallions.

This goal provisionally gives Burkina Faso the win and top spot in Group F. Benin host Mauritania tomorrow in Abidjan.
