AFCON 2027 (Q) / Morocco-Niger: CAF unveils schedule for the two matches
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has set the dates for the two matches between Morocco and Niger on Matchdays 3 and 4 of Group A in qualifying for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations, which will be held in Uganda, Tanzania and Kenya.
Morocco-Niger: dates for the two encounters revealed
The first meeting between the two national teams will take place at Prince Abdallah Stadium in the capital, Rabat, on November 13. Kick-off is scheduled for 5 p.m. (17:00) GMT.
The other match will be played on the 17th of the same month at the Friendship Stadium in Benin, which has a capacity of approximately 35,000, and will also kick off at 5 p.m. GMT (17:00).
The “Super Eagles” will therefore host their opponents outside their own borders after being unable to provide a stadium that meets the continental governing body's requirements.
Morocco top the group with 6 points after a perfect start, three points ahead of their nearest challengers, Gabon, who are second with 3 points, and lead Niger, who are third with the same number of points, on goal difference. Lesotho bring up the rear without a single point.
It should be noted that, under the qualifying system, the top two teams in the group will secure the two qualifying spots for the finals, scheduled for summer 2027.
