Senegal are fine-tuning their preparations in Maputo ahead of their opening match in the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Mozambique. It is a new campaign that marks the beginning of Patrick Vieira's era at the helm of the Lions of Teranga.

Lamine Camara sets out his ambitions

Speaking after the second training session in Maputo, the AS Monaco midfielder spoke to FSF TV. The player said he was fully committed to the camp.

“I came here 100% focused on bringing more to this team, and I hope to be 100% fit on match day,” he said. He also expressed his enthusiasm at the prospect of working with the new head coach and integrating into his playing project.

A favourable Group J?

In Group J, Senegal will face Mozambique, Ethiopia and Sudan. For the Lions of Teranga, the objective is clear: make a strong start to the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers and immediately set the tone for the Patrick Vieira era.
