Amine Gouiri is finally seeing a ray of sunshine. After suffering a serious injury with the Algerian national team during the October international break, the Olympique de Marseille striker is currently undergoing rehabilitation in Qatar at the renowned Aspetar facilities. According to La Provence, the work being done there is already paying off, with the player gradually regaining positive sensations.

“At Aspetar, they are extremely professional and meticulous. Everything is going well for Amine, he’s feeling good. He’s in a positive frame of mind,” a source close to the player told the Marseille-based newspaper.

Officially, his return to competitive action is still penciled in for 2026—a logical timeline given the severity of his injury. Still, these first positive signs are restoring hope around the Algerian international. For both Algeria and OM, this is excellent news. Some are even cautiously entertaining the idea of an earlier comeback, perhaps even in time for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco. It’s still a long shot, but Gouiri’s current progress invites a ‘wait and see’ approach.

For now, Gouiri is moving forward step by step, supported by an elite medical environment and a mindset already set on defying the odds.
