Algeria: four major Italian clubs reportedly vying for Rafik Belghali

Despite Hellas Verona’s relegation, Rafik Belghali has emerged as one of the revelations of the season and is now drawing the attention of Fiorentina, who see him as the ideal reinforcement for their right flank.

The future of the Algerian full-back appears destined to unfold far from Verona this summer. In fact, despite his club dropping to Serie B, Belghali’s performances have been convincing enough to attract serious interest, with Fiorentina now among the frontrunners for his signature.

The 23-year-old’s profile—versatile, able to play both as a wing-back and as a traditional full-back—perfectly matches the needs expressed by the Viola on that flank. His performances with the Fennecs, especially his decisive goal in the thrilling 3-3 draw against Austria, have only boosted his market value.

However, this deal promises to be costly. Signed for around €2 million just a year ago, Belghali is now valued between €12 and €15 million by Verona’s management, who are determined to secure a healthy profit, with the player under contract until 2029. Still, Fiorentina aren’t the only club in the race: AS Roma, Inter Milan, Bologna, and Udinese are also closely monitoring the situation, setting the stage for a lively bidding war in the coming weeks.
