Morocco will host the 35th edition of the competition from December 21, 2025, to January 18, 2026.

In a statement to Média Carré, the Manchester City goalkeeper expressed optimism.

The AFCON? Cameroon is one of the favorites. We need to embrace this leadership status. We are a very proud nation. Our predecessors have achieved great things in the past. We need to try to follow in their footsteps. At AFCON, there are great nations, but Cameroon will have its say. I, André Onana, the Manchester United goalkeeper, will not be afraid... with all due respect to others. We have players who play at Napoli, in top clubs, in competitive leagues. It doesn't mean we will win, but I consider us a serious contender. We must not deceive ourselves. We have the team to do great things. We need to work well, stay focused, and live well together.

Placed in Group F, Cameroon will face Côte d'Ivoire, Gabon, and Mozambique.

With 5 titles to their name, the Indomitable Lions hold the second position in the tournament's history, behind the Pharaohs (7).
