Argentina: Lionel Scaloni fully bows to Spain
After Argentina's defeat in the 2026 World Cup final, some Argentine players curiously questioned the refereeing of Slovenian official Slavko Vincic.
But don't expect their coach, Lionel Scaloni, to do the same. The manager does not share his players' opinion. In fact, he took the opportunity to pay tribute to the 2026 World Champions.
"We didn't lose because the refereeing was unfair, because it wasn't. We lost because they were better, plain and simple. You have to admit it, you have to recognize they played better. We were probably playing to our limits, that's the reality, but sometimes it's good to acknowledge it and I believe it will make us better, no doubt. We couldn't win. We know it, we play for the happiness of our fans and that's why it hurts, but we will keep fighting," declared the Albiceleste coach in comments reported by Marca.
