Nicolas Jackson scored twice in Aston Villa’s victory over Fenerbahçe on Wednesday, October 14, 2026. The Senegalese striker now has three goals in two Champions League matches and four goals in his last three club appearances.

Nicolas Jackson is confirming his return to form. Facing Fenerbahçe on Matchday 2 of the Champions League league phase, Aston Villa’s centre-forward scored twice in the first half to help the Villans pull clear.

After Johan Manzambi opened the scoring in the 12th minute, the Senegal international found the net twice. He first finished off a move initiated by Boubacar Kamara in the 31st minute, before striking again eight minutes later following a combination with Ross Barkley. At half-time, Aston Villa led 3-0.

Three goals in two Champions League matches

This performance confirms Nicolas Jackson’s effectiveness on the European stage. Already on target in Aston Villa’s 3-2 win over Club Brugge on September 8, the Senegalese striker has taken his tally to three goals in two Champions League matches this season.

His effectiveness now extends beyond Europe. With four goals in his last three club matches, Jackson has continued scoring after a less prolific start to the season. He notably scored against Tottenham, then against Brentford on October 10, before his brace against Fenerbahçe.

Aston Villa rediscover their attacking efficiency

Jackson’s rise in form has accompanied the Villans’ renewed attacking efficiency. According to the statistics provided, Aston Villa have scored 17 goals since September 8, the same total as Manchester City over the same period in the Premier League.

Jackson’s brace against Fenerbahçe confirms his importance in Unai Emery’s team’s attacking play. At 25, the Senegalese forward is continuing to score and proving decisive in Aston Villa’s first two European matches.

With three goals in two Champions League matches and four goals in his last three club appearances, Nicolas Jackson is establishing himself in a particularly productive run of form.
