Barcelona End Lautaro Martínez Pursuit After Inter Rejection

Barcelona sporting director Deco has revealed new details about the club’s interest in Lautaro Martínez.

Barcelona was interested in Inter Milan in an investigative way

According to DailySports, Barcelona considered the possibility of signing the Inter striker but quickly ended their interest after Inter made it clear that the Argentine was not available.

Deco explained that Barcelona’s leadership contacted Inter directly and respected the Italian club’s position once the answer was clear. He also denied reports suggesting that Barcelona negotiated directly with Martínez or his representatives.

The 29-year-old remains a key figure at Inter, where he is also club captain. He has been with the Nerazzurri since 2018 and played an important role in their successful 2025/26 campaign.

The revelation effectively closes another chapter in one of the transfer stories surrounding Barcelona. While Martínez remains highly regarded by Deco, the club appears to have accepted that a move is not currently realistic.
