Hansi Flick has named Lamine Yamal, Gabriel Jesus and Karim Adeyemi in Barcelona's attack, while Raphinha and Frenkie de Jong return to the matchday squad but begin on the bench.

For Real Betis, manager Manuel Pellegrini has handed Moroccan international Abde Ezzalzouli a starting role alongside Cucho Hernández, with Dani Ceballos and Giovani Lo Celso also included in the home side's lineup.

Barcelona will line up in a 4-3-3 formation:

• Goalkeeper: Joan García

• Defenders: Jules Koundé, Pau Cubarsí, Gerard Martín, Xavi Espart

• Midfielders: Rodri, Pedri, Fermín López

• Forwards: Lamine Yamal, Gabriel Jesus, Karim Adeyemi

Flick's selection features Xavi Espart at left back, allowing João Cancelo to begin on the bench while Koundé occupies the right back position.

The midfield trio of Rodri, Pedri and Fermín López remains in place, offering Barcelona a combination of defensive control and attacking creativity.

Raphinha and De Jong are among the substitutes after recovering from injury, giving Flick additional options during the second half.

The starting XI was confirmed through the official lineup announcements published by both clubs.

Pellegrini has selected the following eleven players:

• Goalkeeper: Álvaro Vallés

• Defenders: Héctor Bellerín, Diego Llorente, Valentín Gómez, Fran García

• Midfielders: Facundo Bernal, Dani Ceballos, Giovani Lo Celso, Pablo Fornals

• Forwards: Abde Ezzalzouli, Cucho Hernández

The selection includes several changes from Betis' midweek Champions League victory over Porto, with Pellegrini looking to manage his squad while maintaining the team's impressive domestic form.

Abde's inclusion provides particular interest for African football supporters. The Moroccan winger faces his former club after emerging as an important attacking player for Betis.

Flick had already acknowledged the threat posed by the Morocco international, praising his ability to take on opponents in one-on-one situations, as detailed in Foot Africa's report on his assessment of Ezzalzouli.

Hamza Abdelkarim absent as Barcelona welcome back key players

Egyptian youngster Hamza Abdelkarim has not been included in Barcelona's matchday squad.

His omission follows the return of Raphinha and De Jong, whose availability has increased competition for places in Flick's squad.

The development was previously covered by Foot Africa in its report on Abdelkarim's absence.

Barcelona look to protect perfect La Liga record

Barcelona enter the match leading La Liga with 24 point from eight victories, having scored 34 goals and conceded seven.

Real Betis occupy third place with 19 point from eight matches, making Saturday's encounter an important early-season test for both sides.

Barcelona will also travel to face Paris Saint Germain in the Champions League on 20 October before hosting Real Madrid in El Clásico on 25 October.

For now, Flick's immediate objective is to preserve Barcelona's perfect domestic record against a Betis side enjoying one of the strongest starts in the club's history.
