With 210 goals, La Liga currently leads Serie A, the Premier League, the Bundesliga and Ligue 1 in total goals scored.

La Liga is currently the most prolific league in the Big Five by total output. With 210 goals scored since the start of the 2026-2027 season, the Spanish league has a comfortable lead over its main European rivals.

Serie A is in second place with 145 goals, just ahead of the Premier League, which has scored 141. The Bundesliga follows with 137 goals, while Ligue 1 brings up the rear with 128.

The provisional standings are as follows:

The gap between Spain and the other leagues is partly explained by a more advanced schedule and a higher number of matches played. The raw comparison of total goals must therefore be put into perspective by the number of games played in each league.

The Bundesliga remains formidable on average

While La Liga leads in total goals, the Bundesliga has an especially high attacking output when the number of goals is compared with the number of matches played. The German league thus remains one of the most spectacular in Europe in terms of its average goals per game.

The Premier League and Serie A remain very close, while Ligue 1 has a lower total but one that is consistent with the smaller number of matches played at this stage of the season.

Barça makes a major contribution to Spain’s total

FC Barcelona’s very strong start to the season has contributed significantly to La Liga’s total. The Catalans have already demonstrated remarkable attacking efficiency, confirming the momentum seen since the start of the campaign. Barça had already ranked among the most prolific attacks on the continent in recent weeks.

At this stage of the season, the trend is therefore clear: La Liga has a commanding lead in total goals, while the other major leagues remain involved in a much tighter battle behind it.
